Snack Study - Informed Consent
We are required by university policy to present you with the following information.
Introduction
This research is being conducted by Dr. Scott Sampson and Matthew Walsman, a research assistant at the Marriott School of Management. You have been invited to participate in this study and you are eligible to receive extra credit for your participation. The purpose of this study is to study consumer behavior towards advertisements.
Procedure
In this study you will participate in a simulation followed by a 5 question survey. The study will take about 30 minutes.
Risks
There are minimal risks to you from taking part in this research.
Benefits and Compensation
You are eligible to receive one point towards the BYU SONA system that will count towards extra credit in your class for participation in this study.
Confidentiality
The name and identification number you provided when you log into the system will be kept confidential and will only be used to assign you course credit. Your responses in this study will anonymous reported by the researchers, and the data will be stored on a password-protected computer.
Participation
Your participation in this research is voluntary. You are free to withdraw your consent and discontinue participation in the research at any time without penalty to your class status, grade, or standing with the university. The study administrator at his/her discretion may remove you from the study for any of a number of reasons. In such an event, you will not suffer any penalty or loss of benefits or rights, to which you might otherwise be entitled.
